okay, i know everybody’s skin is different but i want to know you’re guys’ ideas of how to get perfect skin. I heard a lot of bad things about proactive and they’re too expensive anyway. What is the best way you know to get rid of zits and keep them gone. please help!

here are some really good tips for acne. http://myfashionaddictions.blogspot.com/…
if your getting zits due to oliy skin, try Tea Tree Facial Wash from The Body Shop. DONT use products strong in salicylic acid (Proactive) because you may have scars in the future.
Keep your hands off your face, wash your face 1-2 times a day (not anything more) and keep those sheets clean for you sleep on them for hours. Drink more water, avoid oily and fried food.
I think it depends on what you use as far as make-up goes. I have always washed my face with salicyic acid face wash like neutrogena, or physoderm. I would get the occasional break-out but had pretty good results. About six months ago I got the whole bare minerals kit thing at sephora. I have had like zero zits since I have started using it! I am a complete believer in this stuff! If you think about it makes sense to look at your make-up since its on your face all day compared to your face wash which is on it for like a minute.
well if you pick you face stop doing that complete that will only leave you with scares and bring back more if anything beacuse of the oils on your hand touching your face.. and you can use any off brand face wash from target or wal mart i prefer to use avons skin clenser its ture profections and it only cost about 5$
i say lemon, it worked for me
i mixed with some water with it. it stings until it drys so less than 5 mins but when its left over night pores are smaller, some zits gone and scars start to fade abit
1. Eat plenty of chocolate
2. Sprint 5 miles and rub the sweat in your face and some dirt if u want
3. Pop them right away
i use proactive and it works fine for me. what exactly have you heard that was so bad?
How to Get Rid of a Pimple
While there are ways to avoid acne on the whole, there are also times when you get that one pimple in the worst imaginable spot, and you feel like you’re walking around with a giant bulls-eye on your face. Well, here’s how you can single out that one pesky zit and make it disappear ASAP.
StepsDo not touch or pop the pimple. It will only make the pimple more obvious and risk infection and scarring. Instead, take up the following routine, twice a day, until it disappears.
Wash your hands thoroughly before you begin to touch your face.
Wash your face gently but thoroughly with a mild, medicated soap and warm water.
The water shouldn’t feel hot, and lukewarm is a little too cool.
Lemon Juice rubbed on the pimple also helps it dry out faster.
Also, get a washcloth and lay it under hot/ very warm water and put it on your face, to open pores, then rub an ice cube all over your face to close the pores, this helps if you wake up during the night and you find your face to be oily, do this however many times you want.
Do not use a washcloth, as the scrubbing action could pick up and distribute bacteria to other parts of your face. It is best to use your hands.
Wash for about 30 seconds.
Pat your skin dry with a towel.
Apply a benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid topical cream on the pimple. If the spot is under the surface of the skin and hurts to the touch, use benzoyl peroxide. Salicylic Acid should work well for all other acne spots.
After topical treatment is dry, apply a basic face moisturizer (preferably allergy-tested, fragrance free, and oil free). Without moisturizing, the skin around the pimple can dry and irritate your skin, possibly making the pimple more inflamed and noticeable. Some contain a mild sunscreen, which is often recommended with some acne washes and medications.
Cover the pimple with medicated concealer (optional).
Learn how to prevent acne in the first place, so that you stop that next monster pimple before it even starts.
Good luck!
TipsWear sunblock (oil-free) when you go out on a sunny day. Since pimples are raw skin, sunburn will only make it worse.
Hands off your face! Do not touch or pick at your spot, this will not help it to go away faster.
Homeopathic alternatives include tea tree oil, baking soda paste (mix with a little water, apply and let dry), and witchhazel.
you should try putting ice on it for like 20 mins to help shrink it or go in a clorine filled pool it will dry out the pimple.
Warnings2.5% to 5% Benzoyl-Peroxide Solutions are sufficient; 10% or higher can irritate the skin and exacerbate the problem.
Do not use rubbing alcohol. It will sting like crazy and dry and irritate your skin.
Do not cover your pimple with make-up, as this will trap oil and dirt. (unless the make-up is medicated/approved by your doctor)
You should cleanse, gently exfoliate, and moisturize your skin twice daily. Go to an expert for a skin consultation to find out what strength of soap and clarifying lotion you should be using for your skin type.
Benzoyl-Peroxide Solutions cause drying underneath your first layer of skin which may take away the zits but will leave dry and irritable skin underneath which can lead to itching and possibly may even give you a rash.

There are different types of acne lesions and treatment is partially dependent on what form you have. Do you have mostly black heads and white heads or do you get the red swollen cysts that lead to scars?
You can see a doctor who specializes in family medicine to help treat your acne and it will probably save you some money instead of a dermatologist, if money is an issue.
Please see the youtube video from TodayShow about acne treatments and Proactive. My dermatologist told me that Proactive was really a waste of money, because the ingredient in it is nothing more than Benzoyl peroxide, which you can buy at the drug store and spend about 1/10th the cost of Proactive.
Benzoly peroxide washes and creams are really good ways to treat acne, but just don’t let your skin get too dry, or that can also lead to breakouts. Also, my dermatologist told me that harsh soaps such as dial, irish spring, etc (perfumes and antibacterials) will also promote acne, because it is irritating to the skin.
If Benzoyl Peroxide does not help enough, ask the doctor for treament. The salysilic acid treatments are not really strong enough to do the job, from what I’ve read. There is also oral antibiotics, but sometimes, this is not good and can lead to yeast infections and other health issues. Also, Retin-A microgel cream is good (but expensive and is prescription–about 60-80 dollars/small tube). It peels your skin. At first it makes it break out a lot more and get very red and flaky, but after a few weeks, you start to have very silky clear skin that doesn’t flake much. It also gets rid of wrinkles!!
Accutane is a very powerful treatment for the deep cystic acne that can damage people’s self-esteem and leave scars. It has some very dangerous side effects, however, and can make you extremely depressed and possibly suicidal while on it, but if you are aware of those risks and recognize that it’s most likely the medication’s effect, it is worth the results—I took it when it first came out in the 1980′s and it was miraculous and I felt blessed.
