Accutane. Its a serious drug that can have some serious side effects. You have to be on it for at least 6 months. I am on it now and it has cleared my skin in 1 month!! But I have to continue the whole 6 months. Its very effective. I would reccomend it. I, luckliy, am not experiencing any side effects other then dry skin and dry lips. The dry skin lasts for the 1st month. Ask your dermotologist, I honestly think its the only drug that gets rid of acne. Good luck!

accutane is the best. it gives you lots of dryness, and can cause birth defects if you get pregnant while taking it. but it works.
i finished my course of accutane about a year ago and haven't had acne problems since.

I have personally used Benza-Clin (benzoyl peroxide and a topical antibiotic), oral antibiotics, Retin-A Micro and Differin gel.
Benza-Clin worked pretty well but was drying. Retin-A is drying too, but if you stay with it, it works wonders for your acne and the texture of your skin. This took about a month.
I think this may depend on what type of acne you have. Have you seen a dermatologist? If your acne is very severe and resistant to other treatments you could consider Accutane.
If you are female, birth control pills are also an option to clear your skin. I took birth control when I was a teenager and had almost perfectly clear skin.
I think making an appointment with a dermatologist would be your best bet. If you feel your acne is hormonal you could see an endicrinologist or gynecologist (if you are female).
